Dedicated volunteers sharing inspiration
We are passionate about incorporating volunteers into our district classrooms and programs! Volunteers make a big impact for our teachers, staff and students. Whether you can volunteer every day, every week, once a month or once a year, there is an opportunity for you! Some tasks can even be done from the comfort of your own home. No matter how much time you're able to give, your volunteer hours make a big difference for our Eagles.
Instructions: Customized post popup (THIS DOES NOT SHOW ON THE LIVE PAGE)
To use a customized post popup that does not use Composers native post popup functionality, follow the steps below. This is to be used with a Post element.
- Set the post element to not open in a popup in the "Link To" settings.
- All fields except title, thumbnail, and read more are hidden by default on the page.
- Add the "customized-popup" custom class to the grid, list or slider Post element.
- There are custom classes to show every field in the post element by default. As mentioned in #2, they are all hidden by default on the page, except for the title, thumbnail, and read more, but below are a list of custom classes you can utilize if you want a particular field to show on the page. These custom classes are to be put on the Post element. The names are self explanatory and are named after the available fields in the "Content Details" area of the Post element settings. THESE CLASSES WILL MAKE THE RELEVANT FIELDS SHOW ON THE PAGE.
- page-show-tags
- page-show-categories
- page-show-body
- page-show-updateddate
- page-show-updatedtime
- page-show-expireddate
- page-show-expiredtime
- page-show-publishdate
- page-show-publishtime
- page-show-author
- page-show-sharingbuttons
- Similarly, there are a set of custom classes available which will allow you to hide information in the popup. THESE CLASSES WILL MAKE THE RELEVANT FIELDS HIDE IN THE POPUP.
- popup-hide-summary
- popup-hide-tags
- popup-hide-categories
- popup-hide-body
- popup-hide-thumbnail
- popup-hide-updateddate
- popup-hide-updatedtime
- popup-hide-expireddate
- popup-hide-expiredtime
- popup-hide-publishdate
- popup-hide-publishtime
- popup-hide-author
- popup-hide-sharingbuttons
- popup-hide-thumbnail
- There is one custom class available to hide the thumbnail on the actual page (this won't affect the popup).
- page-hide-thumbnail
- Ideally, never turn on the "Link titles to post details" setting in the "Content Details" area of the Post element settings. That generates the anchors which was causing duplicates in the search results. However, on page load, they are being removed anyway. Better safe than sorry!
- Whatever details are checked in the "Content Details" area, that's what will show up in the popup (unless you hide them via the custom classes that are provided), except for the read more link. Logically, there's nothing to read more at that point, and also mimics how the native Composer Post popup works. This means by extension, the "Popup Details" area in the Post element settings is now disabled.

Family Volunteer Opportunities
Eden Prairie Schools Community Education's Weekend Food for Kids is looking for volunteers to run food distribution on Thursday evenings from 3:45 pm - 6:00 pm during the 2025-2026 school year. The distribution takes place at the Historic Gym, September 4, 2025 - June 4, 2026. If you are interested you can sign-up for shifts.
If you have any questions, please contact via email.
Weekend Food for Kids is a partnership between Eden Prairie Schools, Every Meal (previously called The Sheridan Story), and a number of generous community sponsors. This program provides free, culturally appropriate and shelf-stable food for children who don't have access to the nutrition they need over weekends during the school year. Weekend Food for Kids is also available throughout the entire summer through our districtwide pick-up model.
Eden Prairie Schools partners with Every Meal in two ways:
- School-Specific Programs: Food is provided discreetly to children whose parents opt into the program (typically the food is snuck into backpacks while children are out of the classroom). Any family in need is welcome to participate, and can register by connecting with your school's social worker. These programs exist at all elementary schools.
- Districtwide Pick-up Program: Parents can pick up food from Every Meal for all students and children in our district on Thursday evenings from 4:00-6:00 PM at the Historic Gym at the Administrative Services Center (8100 School Road). No registration required.
To learn how to contribute funds, become a sponsor, volunteer, or access this food, contact Outreach & Engagement Supervisor Olivia Antilla at oantilla@edenpr.org or 952-975-6968.

How you can help:
- Set up a one-time or recurring donation to the Eden Prairie Community Foundation's School Supply Fund
- Purchase new supplies and drop them off to Olivia Antilla, at 8100 School Road, Community Education, Door 19
- Volunteer with one of our sponsors organizations
- Organize a supply drive for your company or neighborhood
Adopt a school:
A HUGE thank you to the Eden Prairie churches who have stepped up to "Adopt a School" during 2024-25 school year:
- Wooddale Church (CMS & Eden Lake)
- Immanuel Lutheran Church (Prairie View)
- St. Andrew Lutheran Church (Forest Hills)
- Westwood Community Church (Oak Point)
- Grace Church (Cedar Ridge)
The program is also supported by Scheels, the Eden Prairie Community Foundation, PROP, the district, multiple community businesses and individual donors, and other churches. This program would not be possible without the support of these generous donors.

Join us in offering students a firsthand glimpse into how an entrepreneurial mindset thrives across various careers.
Shark Tank Event: We're looking for volunteers to listen to students' Shark Tank presentations, ask questions, and provide feedback. Your experience and perspective can help shape the next generation of entrepreneurs as they pitch their ideas. Join us in supporting these aspiring innovators!
Find the dates and times for both of these events and you can also register to participate.

Find the dates and times for these events and you can also register to participate.
Please fill out interest form if you are willing to be a classroom volunteer to help with Discovery Groups at our Elementary sites. You will have options to select which Elementary School and which courses you would be willing to support. You are welcome and encouraged to offer support in as many ways as possible! Community Education's Eagles Homework Help & Tutoring Program is seeking volunteers to be tutors to Eden Prairie Schools Students K-12. Tutoring sessions run 6-8 p.m. on Thursday evenings starting October 10, 2024 through May 29, 2025. We do not require volunteers to attend every session, but we ask they communicate with our Program Lead the dates they can attend. If interested, you can complete a Tutor Inventory Form. This form helps our Program Lead place you with students in your academic strength areas. If you have any questions, please contact via email.
Join us as a guest instructor in our Entrepreneurship Capstone and inspire the next generation of innovators. We're seeking entrepreneurs to share insights on essential topics like licensing and financing, nonprofit ownership, innovation, sales, and analytics.
